πŸƒ River Decision: Value Bet or Easy Check? ♣️

Look at the image: your hand is strong, the board is dry, and the river changes almost nothing.

You raised preflop and got called.

On the flop, you hit top pair with top kicker and fired a continuation bet. Your opponent called.

The turn went check-check.

Now the river changes almost nothing. Your opponent checks again, the pot is already a decent size, and you are still holding a strong one-pair hand.

So what is the move?

A small value bet can get called by weaker kings or stubborn pocket pairs. But betting too big may only keep stronger hands interested β€” sets, two pair, or someone slow-playing the whole way.

Checking back locks up the showdown and avoids turning a solid hand into an expensive guessing game.
