Silent Hill: Townfall — First-Person Perspective, Actually Work for the Series?

Every mainline Silent Hill has kept the camera behind the character you watched James Sunderland walk through the fog, never saw the world through his eyes. Townfall removes that distance entirely.

Director Jon McKellan says it wasn't a trend decision: the CRTV device, the series' reinvented handheld radio, apparently "couldn't work from any other perspective."

Out September 24 on PS5 and PC. New protagonist, new setting is a Scottish town, not the usual American backdrop and zero connection to previous entries.

Does losing that third-person distance make the horror hit harder, or does Silent Hill lose something essential without it? 👇
